LATE FOR THE PLANE

I was in an airport early this morning in Hawaii and there was a family who came in who missed their plane. This was a local airlines who sells cheap tickets to hop from island to island and if you miss your flight you are just out of luck as this family found out. First, I over heard the argument at the ticket counter. Then I heard the argument as he called the corporate office with no avail to get another flight at no additional cost or at least a matching rate. They informed him (I know because I was being nosey) that his tickets were void and the discounted rate was only available 30 days out. The bottom line was it was going to cost him an extra $1400 for his family to get from Maui to Oakland, CA. Needless to say this guy was not a happy camper.
Two thoughts came to me as I watched this scene play out. The first was I wonder if we could charge a double tithe for people who are late for church. (just a thought) The second and more serious was about all those people who would miss the rapture. For what ever reason when Jesus returns they are just not ready and it will really cost them.
God help us all to live right and do right that whenever we die or the rapture of the church takes place we will not be caught in the position of this man and his family, no ticket to the destination we desire.
