MICHAEL VICK'S SENTENCE

Today Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison for his role in a federal dog fighting conspiracy. The judge stated that Michael Vick should have been more responsible with his position as a role model.
When I heard that statement I had to ask myself a question, "how well am I doing with my responsibility as a Christian witness?" We will all set before a judge some day and give an account for the way we have lived. We will either hear "well done" or "depart from me". A great preacher of old named Robert Lee put it this way, "there is a pay day, coming some day."
Lord, help us to live a life worthy of your calling!

WHAT A RESPONSE!

I was so proud of all of those who got behind our efforts to support the Christmas outreach to kids with AIDS in Nashville. To see all of the paper angels taken off of the tree was a real testimony of a church that cares. I pray that our support will not end with a Christmas outreach but we will continue to pray for those who are sick with AIDS in our community and ask the Lord to give us many more opportunities to reach out to this neglected part of our community. Remember the words of Jesus, "as much as you have done it for the least of these, you have done it unto me."
