Fireworks, pool parties, and barbecue all together on the same day can only mean one thing. It's the 4th of July! This has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love the patriotism that is in the air and every one always seems to be in a festive mood.
This morning I was reminded once again of what this day is all about as I watched yet another tragedy in Iraq on the news. It always saddens me to see our soldiers die in this or any war, but it makes me realize yet again how blessed we are to live in the "land of the free and the home of the brave." So take time on this day especially to pray for our troops and thank God for this country that celebrates it birthday today.
