DIVINE APPOINTMENTS

This morning as I was getting ready to take a jog I ran into a friend that I have not seen in a year or so. He was visiting a neighbor and I just happened to be walking out my door as he was leaving. I set and talked with him for an hour or so and really had an opportunity to talk to him about his relationship with God. The Lord really did do an awesome work.
I pray that I never take for granted these divine appointments but I have to admit it is easy to pass these moment by sometimes. It is easy to get in such a hurry to do the things we want to do in a day that we miss the things God want us to do.
PRAYER: God help me and all that read this blog to realize the opportunities You put before us today and take the time to make the best of them.

I was pastoring in Hot Springs. AR years ago and one day running full throttle I stopped into SONIC for a Rt. 44. It was hot, I was pressed for time and feeling under paid and over worked. I had staff but was too green to know what to do with them @ the time. I was sitting there waiting for my drink and I heard this faint voice asking if I could spare the time. A young man of 30 sat in a parking spot in his wheelchair waiting for his order as well and just asked me if I could spare the time. I quickly told him the time, got my drink and ran off into the asphalt jungle. I suddeny become so overwhelmned by the Holy Spirit and his words..."Could you spare the time?". I did not ask him about his soul. I once would have. I turned around and sped back to the SONIC. He was not there. I confessed it that Sunday to a full house that I would never be the busy again and that I was looking for the young man. 2 weeks later and with the help of a few hundred members we found him and I brought him to church that Sunday. He told how he had a car accident and was now paralyzed. He was a potential sports star. Many knew him after I brought him to church. His fiance left him after the accident. He was now bound to a wheelchair and mentally hindered as another result of his accident. He found Jesus and he found purpose and JOY!
I learned a great lesson that I can and will spare the time, anytime, anywhere, to anyone. Jesus took time for me, surely I can do the same. Thanks pastor for causing me to rememebr my moment.
